Christmas in Hospital

Mom's wish of having Christmas at home never came true. My dad and I visited her in hospital and tried to keep her in high spirits but her coughing was persistent. As we left, her breathing was heavy and in and out.

Mom's Downfall

After being diagnosed with pleural effusion (water in the lungs) and diabetes, she was admitted to the medical ward of UMMC. Her condition was terrible and she had to go through drainage of the water which was building up rapidly. The doctors decided a CTScan was needed but the machines were down and they arranged for a later date.

Premier Here we come!

Ok my staff tag was stuck in the car and had to bug my manager to tag me in. Started the day with the usual queues (Replies, Gen Enq) and came briefing etc. etc. Before lunch, I was told that I'll be starting to work on Premier (finally)! Oh man, it was scarey. Sending to the Supervisory queue is a bit scarey not knowing what the outcome will be like. Anyway, it's my first day so just ok.

Tomorrow will be another day with new things.

Jay's Birthday

Woke up at 5.30am, rushed through getting ready for work but was on time :P What a way to start my day, dad scolded me over something I can't remember. Finished the emails and headed for my cousin's house to get ready for the party.

Crowded and had to fight for bathrooms despite having 3 (or is it 4?) bathrooms. Event was held in KKlub. Great food and ambience. The emcee who happened to be my Uncle Paul picked me to do a dance knowing well I have 2 left feet lol but hey, the crowd cheered and I got a prize at least so it wasn't really bad. Food was good. We had an event we had to pick a partner to do a chicken dance with but my poor cousin Steven didn't have any and picked me lol. Since the girls at the table were demonstrating the dance I thought ah alright make the kid happy. The worst part was, his brother snapped a pic of me dancing with Steven!!!

The event was great but as the saying goes "All good things must come to an end". Went home at 1.30am.

Just another day

First thing I did was to tell my manager Reuben I enjoyed the class. Oh the good news was, my cost saving idea was approved and looking into implementation. Work was as usual and normal.

In the evening, I followed my friend Joseph to his cell group and guess what? I forgot to bring my bible! Oh well at least I shared with Jo. It was great and I said I'll be back for more! :D

Effective Communication Workshop

Ok so my mom and line manager said I don't communicate effectively? Here I am in Cyberjaya for the workshop. Firstly, the instructor was a cool and fun person (I wouldn't attend any boring lectures). The class kicked off with an exercise that also tests your concentration.

Next, we were divided into groups and given parts of where communication is ineffective and to come up and give our thoughts on it with a chart. The second half was to test our listening skills and giving instructions.

We speak 70 to 150 words per minute but we listen 600 words per minute. How's that possible? :P
