Funeral

House was quiet though 100+ people attended. Dad's brother Pastor Joseph lead the prayers and after that many cried when mom's 2 favourite songs "Top of the World" by The Platters and "Take Me Home Country Roads" by John Denver were played. At 2pm, she was cremated and everything became quiet.

Mom passes away

8.10am the hospital calls the house and tells that her condition has got worse and to come immediately. With the jam on the highway, we reached the hospital 5 minutes late only to be told she passed at 9.15am with no struggle. Silence was observed and my dad contacted my aunt for us to make the necessary arrangements to bring the body back.

Second CT-SCAN

Even with the drug morphine, mom managed to fight with the doctor who gave the dye for the scan despite coaxing her to stay calm. Finally, the nurse held her hand down and the doctor injected the dye. The scan had shown a stroke hit 3 areas of her brain and her sugar was high. She started having severe hallucinations and refusal to co-operate in controlling her sugar.

Finally, Prof Yip spoke to my dad and myself alone that time was coming near and to make her feel comfortable and give her whatever she asked for.

Mom leaves the house alive for the last time

Fate as would have said that when she fell outside the house gate while taking her to hospital, it was a sign that I knew this would be the last time she will walk out of that door alive (bad omen). Due to bone weight, we couldn't lift her and had to call the ambulance. She was re-admitted under the palliative care again.
